Fort Myers Brow Lift

If you have noticed the signs of aging appearing in your forehead area, a brow lift from Naples plastic surgeon, Dr. Manuel Peña can help minimize problems like wrinkling and sagging. A brow lift, also referred to as a forehead lift, is designed to create a more pleasing forehead appearance by raising the contour of the eyebrows.

Sagging skin around eyebrows can be improved with this procedure, and the forehead will assume a softer, smoother appearance. Forehead wrinkles that tend to appear when you raise your eyebrows and form certain expressions will be reduced and, for some patients, may disappear completely. The wrinkling that occurs between the eyebrows may also be softened.

Keep in mind that the brow lift targets the brow position primarily and is not performed to improve sagging of the eyelids or eye wrinkling. If you would like to correct skin issues around the eyes, Dr. Peña may instead recommend the blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) for problems like puffy bags or crow’s feet.

The brow lift procedure is great for patients who want to eliminate forehead lines that may create a tired or angry expression. Dr. Peña will manipulate the muscles positioned above the eyes to smooth out the forehead appearance and create a younger look. Many of our Naples plastic surgery patients combine the brow lift with other procedures like the eyelid lift or facelift to achieve a dramatic rejuvenation. A brow lift can be performed using either the endoscopic or traditional technique.

Traditional Brow Lift

With the traditional brow lift, Dr. Peña will place a single incision in the hairline, reaching from ear to ear. The forehead muscles are adjusted and tightened, and some skin removal will help the smoothing process. The result is a raised hairline and a refreshed forehead appearance. Because the scars are concealed in the hairline, they will not be visible.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

With the endoscopic brow lift, Dr. Peña will make several small incisions in the hairline. Using a tiny camera called an endoscope, Dr. Peña will examine the forehead tissue. The underlying muscle is then manipulated and the scalp is shifted. The tissues are suspended at higher positions using several methods. The incisions are then sutured. The result is a raised hairline and a tighter forehead.
