Tumescent Liposuction

– With the tumescent liposuction technique, Dr. Peña first injects a large volume of a medicated solution into the treatment area. The solution causes the fat cells to become firm and swollen, giving Dr. Peña a high level of control during the removal process. Tumescent liposuction is a considerably longer procedure than traditional liposuction; however, it offers certain reduced risks and faster recovery than the traditional method.

 

Ultrasonic Liposuction (UAL)

– During ultrasonic-assisted liposuction, Dr. Peña uses a special cannula that breaks up fat using high-frequency ultrasound energy. The fat cells liquefy and are then removed by suction. The UAL method may be recommended for patients who need treatment in body areas with especially fibrous or dense fatty tissue, such as the back.

 

LipoSelection™ - LipoSelection by VASER™

– The newest generation of ultrasonic liposuction. It offers an innovative way to sculpt the body. Dr. Peña uses ultrasonic energy to precisely target fat cells while leaving surrounding tissue unaffected. The VASER system uses high frequency energy to liquefy fat, and then gently removes the cells using suction and massage. Many of our patients appreciate the smooth contours and minimized discomfort present with this technique.

 

In some cases removal of excess skin will be necessary either at the same time or subsequent to the liposuction procedure.
