Fort Myers Rhinoplasty

What type of alterations should I choose for my nose?

Everyone will have their own idea of “the perfect nose.” Fort Myers Nose Surgeon, Dr. Peña and his rhinoplasty staff can help you choose the nose proportions that will not only look attractive, but also integrate well with you other facial features for a more balanced, aesthetically pleasing result. A chin implant can be used to add further balance to the face. Based on your goals and the types of noses that appeal to you in photos, we will recommend a solution and show you a digital image of what it can look like once the surgery is finished and the nose is healed. Schedule an initial rhinoplasty consultation to find out more about your options and what is possible with this type of surgery.

Is rhinoplasty a painful procedure?

The rhinoplasty procedure involves surgery, so there will be some discomfort during the recovery period. Dr. Peña prescribes pain medication to help you with any pain. Comparatively, rhinoplasty surgery discomfort is overall described by our patients as mild. The post-surgical period will require you to follow explicit instructions from Dr. Peña

What can I expect during the healing process?

A week or more of recovery time may be needed, depending on the extent of surgery and your current health. Rhinoplasty patients can expect some discomfort, swelling, bruising, nausea and minor bleeding. Rest assured that these side effects are temporary and can be minimized with medication. Plenty of rest is recommended. You will return to see Dr. Peña for bandage removal and to make sure you are healing properly. Dr. Peña and his staff will go over all of the post-operative instructions several times and provide you with a take-home information packet.

Will insurance cover my nose reshaping surgery?

It all depends on who your insurer is and what their policy is on cosmetic surgery. While most cosmetic procedures tend to be excluded, rhinoplasty may be covered if its purpose is partly functional. For instance, if you are interested in changing the appearance of your nose and altering the shape to correct nasal obstruction that interferes with breathing, an insurance provider may cover a portion of the cost. If there is a complex breathing problem or a problem with the sinuses we work together with an ear, nose and throat physician to get you the best results. You can either give your insurer a call, or talk to our financial coordinator and have us do some research on your behalf. At our Naples plastic surgery center, we offer affordable financing options to help you cover the cost of surgery.
