What is VASER Lipo®

VASER Lipo® is a liposuction technique that actually has the ability to differentiate between fat and other tissue. VASER Lipo® is performed by first injecting a tumescent saline solution that both numbs the area to be treated and helps constrict blood vessels to reduce blood flow to the area. From there, using ultrasound technology, board-certified Naples plastic surgeon Dr. Manuel Peña can break up targeted deposits of fat without impacting surrounding tissue. The end result is a faster, safer, and often more aesthetically pleasing form of liposuction.

One of the greatest benefits of VASER Lipo® is the results it can offer. Because this procedure removes only excess, unwanted fat, there is less chance of sagging or loose skin following your surgery. This can produce a much tighter, more toned appearance.

 

Faster Recovery

 

Recovery time from traditional liposuction can take several weeks. With VASER Lipo®, many patients see immediate results, although full results may take three to four months to be apparent. Bruising and mild discomfort may be experienced for the first few days following your surgery. Naples plastic surgeon, Dr. Peña can discuss methods to control any pain. Bruising will subside on its own, and should be less noticeable than bruising following other liposuction techniques.

 

Most patients are able to return to work within seven to 14 days. During this time, and the next few weeks, strenuous activity should be monitored carefully. However, taking several walks throughout the day will help speed recovery and increase your level of comfort. You should be able to resume all of your normal activities within two to four weeks following VASER Lipo®. Dr. Peña will work with you during this time to help you determine when you can return to your normal exercise routine.
