Smokers often lie to Plastic Surgeons

Another Study in last month's Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal found that those patients that said they had quit smoking, 35% were found to have nicotine in their urine. This negatively impacts the results as the complication rate for those actively smoking when compared to non smokers. Bottom line is this: if you smoke tell the surgeon. Only then the surgeon and you can realistically asses your risks in undergoing plastic surgery while still smoking.
