Dr. Manuel Peña offers Lumecca IPL photofacial to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. Unfortunately, years of sunlight exposure contributes to age spots, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and rough skin.
Laser photofacial therapy utilizing Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a widely used non-invasive treatment that can dramatically improve skin imperfections, tone, texture and overall quality of the skin. IPL therapy uses broad-spectrum light to stimulate collagen growth, treat pigmentation and vascular lesions. Dr. Manuel Peña recommends Lumecca by InMode to treat sun damage and vascular lesions.
Thanks to innovations in light technology, we have a safe and non-invasive way to help restore the skin’s youthful appearance.

In just 1 to 3 sessions, patients typically see a noticeable improvement in their complexion and also in the brightness of their skin.* Lumecca uses IPL to target and treat your skin condition by selective photothermolysis which provides an effective photofacial treatment resulting in rejuvenated skin.
What Should I Expect During and After Lumecca IPL?
The Lumecca treatment is very well tolerated with patients reporting the bright flashes of light feeling like a slight warming and elastic sensation. Redness of the skin are normal after treatment and usually subsides within an hour. Over the next 24-48 hours, patients may see a darkening of pigmented spots; however, in the following weeks the pigmented lesions flake off, leading to an even and healthy skin tone.
*Please note: Avoiding sun exposure in the weeks before treatment is important to minimize complications!
After treating vascular lesions, patients will see the vein blanch and disappear or a color change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days. It should be noted that multiple sessions provide optimal results. Your personalized treatment plan takes into consideration the severity of skin damage, skin type, type of treatment (vascular vs sun damage), and energy settings.
